FRIENDS OF ARAVA
Mission & Goals
The mission of the Friends of the Arava Institute is to actively campaign for, and provide funding to, the educational and operational expenses of the Arava Institute, while helping the program grow its academic, research, student enrollment and facilities to meet the future needs for environmental leadership in the region…and around the world.
The goal of the Friends is to create a sustained investment pipeline that allows the Institute to:
- meet the daily educational and living needs of its student and faculty
- provide tuition scholarships to deserving students from the across the Mideast
- enable the construction of new facilities for growing student enrollment and successfully engaging the many highly necessary research programs, and
- maintain a cohesive alumni network that insures former Arava alumni remain in constant personal and professional contact as they progress their environmental careers.
To that end, the Friends' Board of Trustees is composed of leaders from across professional and political spectrums, who are personally engaged in the Friends' mission because they know a peaceful Middle East, that is collectively respective of its shared environment, is a true path toward ending the bitter conflict the currently engulfs that region and the world.
